Hon. Wytonja L. Curry, Esq.

Hon. Wytonja L. Curry, Esq. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Prince George’s County Circuit Court, 7th Judicial Circuit, since December 21, 2018. She was born in Mobile, Alabama, on December 21, 1972. Judge Curry earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1994 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1998. She was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1998, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland in 1999, and the District of Columbia Bar in 2001. Before her judicial appointment, she served as a law clerk to Judge Richard H. Sothoron, Jr., Circuit Court, Prince George’s County, from 1998 to 1999. She also worked as a trial lawyer at David L. Hendricks & Associates from 1999 to 2004 and Timothy S. Smith & Associates from 2004 to 2005. Judge Curry then served as Progressive House Counsel for the Progressive Group of Insurance Companies from 2005 to 2018.

Judge Curry has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a Member of the Judicial Education Subcommittee of the Education Committee of the Judicial Council since 2020, and the Access and Fairness Subcommittee of the Equal Justice Committee since 2020. She has also been a Member of the Juvenile Law Committee of the Judicial Council since 2022 and the Court Access and Community Relations Committee since 2023. Her extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
