Hon. Videtta A. Brown has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Baltimore City Circuit Court, 8th Judicial Circuit, since February 16, 2010. Prior to her judicial appointment, she had a distinguished career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Baltimore City, where she held various roles including juvenile division, misdemeanor unit, narcotics division, and domestic violence coordinator. Judge Brown has also been actively involved in several legal committees and organizations, such as the Commission on Child Custody Decision Making and the Domestic Violence Subcommittee of the Family Law Committee.
Born in Dante, Virginia, in 1957, Judge Brown earned her Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Theatre Arts from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law. She has been recognized for her contributions to the legal field and her dedication to community service, receiving awards such as the Women in Service Award from the Maryland Lt. Governor and the Certificate of Merit from the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Her extensive experience and commitment to justice make her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
