Hon. Robert J. Thompson is an associate judge for the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court in Maryland. Appointed by Governor Larry Hogan in October 2018, Judge Thompson has a diverse legal background. He managed his own private solo practice from 2011 to 2018 and practiced for ten years at the Law Offices of J. Calvin Jenkins, Jr. (2001 to 2011). He received a Bachelor of Arts from Northwest Nazarene University (1987), a Master of Arts from St. John’s College (1990), and a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law (2001).
Judge Thompson has been actively involved in the legal community, serving on various committees and boards, including the James C. Cawood, Jr. Inn of Court, the Anne Arundel County Bar Association, and the Maryland State Bar Association. He has also been a volunteer attorney with the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service and has served on the Court of Appeals Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Service. His extensive experience and dedication to the legal profession make him a respected figure in the judicial system.
