Hon. Mistey L. Metzgar, Esq.

Hon. Mistey L. Metzgar, Esq. has been serving as a Family Magistrate for the Charles County Circuit Court, 7th Judicial Circuit, since April 19, 2010. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000 and her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2003. She was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2003 and has been actively involved in family law litigation. Before her appointment as a magistrate, she worked as a law clerk for the Prince George’s County Circuit Court and as an associate at Mudd, Mudd & Fitzgerald, P.A. in La Plata, Maryland.

Judge Metzgar has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a member of the Charles County Family Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee from 2010 to 2011. Her extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary. Judge Metzgar’s commitment to justice and her diverse legal background highlight her as a distinguished member of the Charles County Circuit Court.
