Hon. Michael J. McAuliffe, Esq. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Montgomery County Circuit Court, 6th Judicial Circuit, since December 27, 2019. He attended Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame. He then obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1986. Judge McAuliffe has been actively involved in the legal community, serving as a law clerk to Judge John J. Mitchell of the Montgomery County Circuit Court and as an associate at Quinn & McAuliffe in 1987. He later became a partner at Ethridge, Quinn, Kemp, McAuliffe, Rowan & Hartinger, where he practiced until his judicial appointment.
Judge McAuliffe has been a Member of the Maryland State Bar Association since 1986, holding various leadership positions such as past chair of the Negligence, Insurance & Workers’ Compensation Section and past member of the Board of Governors. He has also been involved with the Montgomery County Bar Association, serving on the executive committee and as past chair of the Fee Dispute Resolution Committee. His extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
