Hon. Marc A. DeSimone, Jr. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Baltimore County Circuit Court, 3rd Judicial Circuit, since January 2024. Before his judicial appointment, he was an Assistant Public Defender in the Appellate Division of the Office of Public Defender from 2005 to 2022. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University Maryland and his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2004. He has been admitted to the Maryland Bar and is a member of several bar associations, including the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore County Bar Association. Judge DeSimone has also served as an Adjunct Professor and Lecturer at the Francis King Carey School of Law since 2007.
Judge DeSimone has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving on the Prison Education Delivery Reform Commission since 2024. He has received several awards for his contributions to the legal field, including the Judith P. Ritchey Award from the Baltimore County Bar Association in 2022 and the Benjamin L. Cardin ’77 Public Service Award from the Francis King Carey School of Law in 2024. His extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
