Hon. Krystal Quinn Alves, Esq. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Prince George’s County Circuit Court, 7th Judicial Circuit, since October 24, 2011. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Howard University in 1986 and her Juris Doctor from the Howard University School of Law in 1991. Before her judicial appointment, she worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Prince George’s County from 1992 to 1994 and 1995 to 2001, and as an Associate County Attorney in the Office of Law from 2001 to 2003. She also served as the Chief of the Juvenile Division in the Office of the State’s Attorney from 2003 to 2005.Judge Alves has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a Member of the Education Committee of the Judicial Council from 2015 to 2018 and as a Member of the Character Committee of the 4th Appellate Circuit, Court of Appeals, from 2002 to 2005. She has also been involved with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and the Committee on Criminal and Motor Vehicle Matters of the District Court of Maryland. Her extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
