Hon. Kevin J. Mahoney, Esq.

Hon. Kevin J. Mahoney, Esq. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Harford County Circuit Court, 3rd Judicial Circuit, since January 4, 2016. Born in Denver, Colorado, in 1961, Judge Mahoney attended Joppatowne High School in Joppa, Maryland, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1983, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1987. He has held various roles in private practice, including serving as an Associate at Leaf & Hertsch, Cook, Howard, Downs & Tracey, and Michael E. Leaf, P.A., before becoming a Partner at Leaf, Mahoney & McCarthy, P.A., and later at Hodes, Ulman, Pessin & Katz, P.A., and Gessner, Snee, Mahoney & Lutche, P.A..

Judge Mahoney has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a Member of the Peer Review Panel for the Attorney Grievance Commission, the Economic Development Commission for the Town of Bel Air, and the Cable Network Advisory Board for Harford County. He has also been a Vice-Chair of the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation, President of the Albert P. Close Foundation, and a Board Member of the Steppingstone Museum. His extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
