Hon. Keith R. Truffer

Hon. Keith R. Truffer has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Baltimore County Circuit Court, 3rd Judicial Circuit, since February 11, 2016. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1956, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree (cum laude) from Mount St. Mary’s University in 1978 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1982. He has been admitted to the Maryland Bar since 1982, as well as the District of Columbia Bar in 1999 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1988. Judge Truffer has held various roles in private practice and public service, including serving as a law clerk to Judge John E. Raine, Jr., Baltimore County Circuit Court, from 1982 to 1983 and as a partner at Royston, Mueller, McLean & Reid, L.L.P. from 1990 to 2016.Judge Truffer has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as President of the Maryland State Bar Association from 2018 to 2019 and as a Member of the Peer Review Committee, Attorney Grievance Commission, from 1990 to 2016. He has also served on the Second Circuit Character Committee, State Board of Law Examiners, from 2010 to 2015 and the Work Group on the Professionalism Course and Professionalism Center from 2015. His extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary. Judge Truffer’s commitment to justice and his diverse legal background highlight him as a distinguished member of the Baltimore County Circuit Court.
