Hon. Jill R. Cummins, Esq.

Hon. Jill R. Cummins, Esq. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Montgomery County Circuit Court, 6th Judicial Circuit, since January 12, 2018. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Judge Cummins earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from the University of Virginia in 1985 and her Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law, American University, in 1988. She was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1988 and the District of Columbia Bar in 1990. Before her judicial appointment, she served as an associate at Gartrell & Alexander from 1988 to 1989 and Donovan, O’Connell & Broderick from 1989 to 1993. She also worked as the Managing Attorney at Allstate Insurance from 2005 to 2017, where she held various roles including counsel, senior trial attorney, and lead counsel.Judge Cummins has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a Member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Montgomery County Bar Association (personal injury section), and the District of Columbia Bar Association. She has also been a Member of the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association since 2007, serving as co-chair of the Montgomery County Committee from 2015 to 2017. Her extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
