Hon. Jennifer S. Fairfax, Esq.

Hon. Jennifer S. Fairfax, Esq. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Montgomery County Circuit Court, 6th Judicial Circuit, since September 8, 2023. She was appointed by Governor Wes Moore and is known for her deep legal experience and expertise in family law, particularly focusing on domestic and international adoptions and assisted reproduction issues. Ms. Fairfax is the founder of Jennifer Fairfax, LLC, and has authored a preeminent book on adoption law. She has also worked with lawmakers to advance legislation related to adoption and assisted reproduction.

Judge Fairfax has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a Member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association. She has also been a Member of the American Bar Association and has taught law school courses on the adoption process and law, including LGBTQ law, adoption process issues, contract issues, and family law. Her extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
