Hon. Jennifer B. Schiffer

Hon. Jennifer B. Schiffer has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Baltimore City Circuit Court, 8th Judicial Circuit, since January 3, 2017. Before her judicial appointment, she was an Assistant State’s Attorney in Baltimore County from 1999 to 2016, where she held various significant roles, including Chief of the Felony Review Unit, Trial Team Captain, and Chief of the Violent Crimes Division. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, in 1971, Judge Schiffer earned her Bachelor’s degree in History and English from the University of Michigan in 1994 and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Washington College of Law, American University, in 1998. She has been admitted to the Maryland Bar since 1998 and has been a member of various bar associations, including the Maryland State Bar Association, Baltimore City Bar Association, and Baltimore County Bar Association.

Judge Schiffer has also been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a member of the Specialty Courts and Dockets Committee of the Judicial Council since 2021. Her extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary1.
