Hon. Dilip B. Paliath, Esq. has been serving as a Family Magistrate for the Baltimore County Circuit Court, 3rd Judicial Circuit, since 2019. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Boston College in 1993 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1996. Before joining the bench, Judge Paliath was a partner at the law firm Preller, Preller & Paliath, where he practiced in civil and criminal matters, including business transactions and estates. He also served as Chief Counsel in the Office of Crime Control and Prevention under former Governor Bob Ehrlich and as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Judge Paliath has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including the Greengate Community Association, the Knights of Columbus (St. Joseph Council #5687), the Towson Elks, the Timonium Optimist Club, and the University of Virginia Alumni Association. His extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary. Judge Paliath’s commitment to justice and his diverse legal background highlight him as a distinguished member of the Baltimore County Circuit Court.
