Hon. Gladys M. Weatherspoon, Esq

Hon. Gladys M. Weatherspoon, Esq. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Prince George’s County Circuit Court, 7th Judicial Circuit, since December 18, 2020. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language & Literature from the University of Maryland University College in 1988 and her Juris Doctor from the David A. Clarke School of Law at the University of the District of Columbia in 1994. Before her judicial appointment, Judge Weatherspoon worked as a Deputy Trial Chief in the Felony Division of the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia from 2004 to 2008, and as a Managing Attorney at the Law Office of Gladys M. Weatherspoon, LLC, from 2008 to 2020. She was also a Law Clerk to Judge Jose M. Lopez at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia from 1994 to 1995.

Judge Weatherspoon has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a Member of the National Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the Prince George’s County Bar Association, and the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association. She has received several honors and awards, such as being named one of the Top One Hundred Trail Attorneys by the National Trial Lawyers Association in 2013 and receiving the Maryland Daily Record’s Top 100 Women recognition. Her dedication to public service and legal excellence has made her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
