Crystal D. Mittelstaedt, Esq. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Prince George’s County Circuit Court, 7th Judicial Circuit, since December 13, 2007. She previously served as an Associate Judge on the District Court of Maryland, District 5, from August 11, 2005, to December 12, 2007. Judge Mittelstaedt earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Maryland in 1981 and her Juris Doctor from the Antioch School of Law in 1986. Before her judicial appointments, she worked as an Associate County Attorney in Prince George’s County from 1987 to 2005. She also served as a law clerk to Judge James H. Taylor, Prince George’s County Circuit Court, from 1986 to 1987.

Judge Mittelstaedt has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a Member of the Civil Law and Procedure Committee of the Maryland Judicial Conference from 2006 to 2009. She has also been a Member of the Task Force on Business-Owner Compensation in Condemnation Proceedings from 2004 to 2005. Additionally, she has been a Member of the American Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the Prince George’s County Bar Association, the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, and the Harry A. Cole Bar Association. Her extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
