Hon. Darren S. Johnson, Esq.

Hon. Darren S. Johnson, Esq. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Prince George’s County Circuit Court, 7th Judicial Circuit, since January 17, 2023. He previously served as a Family Magistrate in the same court from 2018 to 2023. Judge Johnson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Howard University in 2000 and his Juris Doctor from the David A. Clarke School of Law, University of the District of Columbia, in 2003. Before his judicial appointment, he worked as an Attorney Advisor in the National Appeals Division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture from 2011 to 2018. He was born in Washington, DC, in 1976.

Judge Johnson has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a Member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Prince George’s County Bar Association, the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, and the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association. He has also been a Member of the Latinx Judicial Council and the Harry A. Cole Judicial Council. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Legal Services of Prince George’s County, Inc., since 2022. His extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
