Hon. Scott M. Carrington, Esq. has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Prince George’s County Circuit Court, 7th Judicial Circuit, since August 2024. He previously served as an Associate Judge on the District Court of Maryland, District 5, from August 4, 2017, to August 2024, and as the Presiding Judge of the Adult Drug Court from May 21, 2020, to August 2024. Before his judicial appointments, he worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Prince George’s County from 2004 to 2017 and as a Special Assistant Attorney General on the Attorney General’s Task Force on Crimes of Exploitation. Judge Carrington also served as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve (former judge advocate general).

Judge Carrington earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Bowie State University and his Juris Doctor from the Cooley School of Law, Western Michigan University, in 2003. He was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2004 and is a Member of both the Maryland State Bar Association and the Prince George’s County Bar Association (criminal law section). His extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
