Joseph M. Stanalonis, Esq. has been serving as the County Administrative Judge on the St. Mary’s County Circuit Court, 7th Judicial Circuit, since November 20, 2024. He previously served as Acting County Administrative Judge from October 2 to November 19, 2024, and as an Associate Judge from January 11, 2019, to October 2, 2024. Judge Stanalonis has also been the Presiding Judge of the Adult Substance Abuse Recovery Court since 2019 and a member of the Equal Justice Committee since 2023, where he chaired the sentencing subcommittee. Before his judicial appointment, he was the Deputy State’s Attorney for St. Mary’s County from 2017 to 2019. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1996.

Judge Stanalonis has been actively involved in various legal and community organizations, including the Maryland State Bar Association and the St. Mary’s County Bar Association. His dedication to public service and legal excellence has made him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary.
