Hon. James L. Rhodes has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Baltimore County Circuit Court, 3rd Judicial Circuit, since January 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont, and his Juris Doctor from the School of Law at Western New England University. He has been admitted to the Maryland Bar and is a member of several bar associations, including the Maryland State Bar Association, Baltimore County Bar Association, and Monumental City Bar Association. Judge Rhodes has also served as a law clerk to Counsel at Liberty Mutual House in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Judge Rhodes has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as Vice-Chair of the Civil Rights and Constitutional Law Section of the Maryland Association for Justice since 2020. His extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary. Judge Rhodes’s commitment to justice and his diverse legal background highlight him as a distinguished member of the Baltimore County Circuit Court.
