Hon. Paul J. Hanley has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Baltimore County Circuit Court, 3rd Judicial Circuit, since March 23, 2014. Before his judicial appointment, he served as a Master in Juvenile Matters for the Circuit Court, Baltimore County, from 1995 to 2014. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1956, Judge Hanley earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from Loyola College of Maryland in 1978 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1982. He has been admitted to the Maryland Bar since 1982 and has held various roles in private practice and public service, including serving as a partner at Hanley & Hanley from 1983 to 2007 and as a solo practitioner from 2007 to 2008.

Judge Hanley has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a Member of the Maryland State Bar Association since 1982 and the Baltimore County Bar Association from 1983 to 2000 and again from 2011. He has also been a Member of the Dissenters Law Club since 1993 and served on the Advisory Board to the Paralegal Program at the Community College of Baltimore County, Dundalk Campus, from 2000 to 2002. His extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary. Judge Hanley’s commitment to justice and his diverse legal background highlight him as a distinguished member of the Baltimore County Circuit Court.
