Hon. Patricia M. DeMaio has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Baltimore County Circuit Court, 3rd Judicial Circuit, since January 2024. Prior to her judicial appointment, she served as an Administrative Law Judge at the Office of Administrative Hearings from 2021 to 2023. She also worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Baltimore City from 2008 to 2011 and again from 2015 to 2021. Additionally, she was an Attorney at the Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company (formerly Injured Workers’ Insurance Fund) from 2011 to 2015. Before moving to Maryland, she was an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Judge DeMaio earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications from Morgan State University in 1996 and her Juris Doctor from the Beasley School of Law, Temple University, in 1999. She has been admitted to the Maryland Bar and is a member of several bar associations, including the Maryland State Bar Association, Baltimore County Bar Association, Monumental City Bar Association, and the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland.
Judge DeMaio has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as a Faculty Member at Howard University School of Law from 2005 to 2008. She is also a member of the National Association of Women Judges and the Serjeants’ Inn. Her extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary. Judge DeMaio’s commitment to justice and her diverse legal background highlight her as a distinguished member of the Baltimore County Circuit Court.
