Hon. Andrew M. Battista has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Baltimore County Circuit Court, 3rd Judicial Circuit, since January 11, 2019. Born in Washington, DC, in 1960, Judge Battista earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University in 1982 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1987. He has been admitted to the Maryland Bar since 1987. Before his judicial appointment, he worked as an associate at Hardwick, Tripoda & Harris from 1987 to 1989, Marlow, Peddicone & Young from 1989 to 1990, and later as a partner at Young & Battista from 1990 to 1993. He also worked as a sole practitioner from 1993 to 2019.
Judge Battista has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving as chair of the Criminal Law Committee, Speaker Committee, and Young Lawyers Committee of the Baltimore County Bar Association. He has also been a member of the Parish Council at St. John’s Hydes Catholic Church in Hydes, Maryland, from 2007 to 2009. His extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make him a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary. Judge Battista’s commitment to justice and his diverse legal background highlight him as a distinguished member of the Baltimore County Circuit Court.
