Hon. Sherrie R. Bailey

Hon. Sherrie R. Bailey has been serving as an Associate Judge on the Baltimore County Circuit Court, 3rd Judicial Circuit, since May 26, 2009. Before her judicial appointment, she was an Assistant State’s Attorney in Baltimore City from 1984 to 2006, where she served as Chief of the District Court Division from 1991 to 1996. She also worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Baltimore County from 2006 to 2009. Born in Richmond, Virginia, in 1959, Judge Bailey earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 1981 and her Juris Doctor from Notre Dame Law School in 1984. She has been admitted to the Maryland Bar since 1985 and has been a member of various bar associations, including the Maryland State Bar Association, Baltimore City Bar Association, and Monumental City Bar Association. Judge Bailey has been actively involved in several legal and community organizations, including serving on the Board of Trustees of St. Mary’s College of Maryland from 2005 to 2011 and as a member of the Juvenile Law Committee of the Judicial Council from 2015 to 2020. Her extensive legal experience and dedication to public service make her a respected and influential figure in the Maryland judiciary. Judge Bailey’s commitment to justice and her diverse legal background highlight her as a distinguished member of the Baltimore County Circuit Court.
